Religion,the opium of the masses

my family gave me a lotta freedom when i was growin up!!
i was encouraged 2 question nything nd everything!!! which meant tht i was always confused as 2 whether i was an atheist or a believer!! no matter how liberal my father might have been, he finally belongs 2 the category of ppl who r theists!!!

when i was in complete control of my life, i would question His existence, but i'ld go 2 the Gurudwara the day i had xams!!!

but over the years, i've begun feeling tht religion is smthin tht takes advantage of an individual's insecurities 2 assert it's control over the person's life!!
remember those famous words,"religion is the opium of the masses" (or whtevr it was)!!

if the mind, when in complete control of the situation (nd also completely free of ny biases) questions the validity of God's existence, shouldn't we give up our respective religions nd become atheists????????
